I'm putting together a second script that's going to be at least 3 times the size of the Darling film project. Fleshing out the details is run because the brain craps faster than my fingers. And aside from very particular people, casting is still in the consideration process and I'm still looking for more. The great news is, this film is going to be a whore-house of special effects' from gun fights to hovercrafts in the sky, even flying cars. The film, is going to take place in a future, about 12 years from now after a rough depression due to health care companies needing bailouts.
The film is going to center around "Jemma", a medical researcher for her father's private practice, and Nocs, a corporate muscle man sent to bring "Jemma" in for corporate espionage.
The delimma is that Jemma is carrying a specific kind of [object omitted] that is going to cause Health Insurance companies to go bankrupt. There are three major problems
she faces. Her "bodyguard" Nocs intending to sell her out. Red Cross and Blue Cross Blue Shield sending assassins for her [object omitted]. And a terrorist by the name Ean Shaw trying to take [object omitted] for corporate sabotage and extortion. The [object omitted] will hence forth be called Jupiter.
I didn't originally set out to do a film about Health Care or anything like that. The topic, though imperative to all of us, isn't interesting to me. But when I thought about it as a backdrop for this smaller story, it really took wings. Darling's production cost was about no more than $500 in the end. A lot of expenses were simply for the camera. Shooting was only over a course of 4 days. Jupiter is looking MUCH more expensive, MUCH more complicate, and MUCH longer of a shoot than Darling. (Which is still being edited).
Jupiter will have to take a back seat until October or so. Take it in Blood is set to be shot soon, with Eddy directing the project. casting is still going on. The plan is to shoot TIIB as a action short. Jupiter may become a feature. But in October, I would like to get some preliminary screen tests shot, and possibly even shoot the actual film scenes with some of the actors. Maybe even a small action sequence from the script. The film opens on a rooftop conversation between "Jemma" and the terrorist Ean Shaw.
